Plasma fibroblasting is a revolutionary non-invasive cosmetic skin remodelling treatment that is highly effective and a remarkable low cost alternate to treating issues normally only addressed by cosmetic surgery. Eyelid lifting/hooding, under eye bags, crows feet, nasolabial folds, wrinkle reduction, neck tightening, stretch marks and scarring can all be treated by this procedure.
Plasma fibroblasting uses a plasma pen, an electronic hand-piece, that when exposed to atmospheric nitrogen, delivers a tiny electronic arc into the skin, sublimating (turning a solid into a gas) the targeted cells and tightening the skin. The therapist works to produce a symmetrical grid of thermal trauma over the treated area, as tiny dots of contracted tissue are created upon contact, pulling and tightening the skin together to create a taut band of tissue. This causes the tissue in its vicinity to contract and lift, with immediate results becoming noticeable after just one treatment. This is an incredibly effective skin tightening treatment that causes no damage to the surrounding areas or the deeper layers of subcutaneous tissue, meaning less discomfort, with significantly less and downtime than cosmetic surgery.
After the initial treatment, skin tightening will continue for up to 3 months as the proliferation of fibroblasts (skin cells) initiated within the healing cascade continue to lay down more collagen and elastin, creating a remodelling effect that results in a tighter, more histologically youthful complexion.
This medical-grade cosmetic procedure can be slightly uncomfortable, but is definitely bearable, however I recommend the use of a numbing cream in order for the full treatment to be carried out in a pleasant and efficient manner.
Plasma fibroblasting is an intensive aesthetic treatment that uses the latest in skin remodelling technology to deliver proven histologically younger, thicker, tighter skin. With results coming close to those achieved through cosmetic surgery seen after three to five treatments.

Benefits of Plasma fibroblasing:

  • Pasma fibroblasting causes an immediate retraction in the skin tissue, resulting in a noticeable tightening and firming of the skin.

  • Increases the proliferation of fibroblasts that lay down collagen and elastin fibres; normalising dysfunction, thickening the skin, increasing elasticity and helping to diminish fine lines and wrinkles by creating new skin cells.

  • Exposure to UV radiation causes the deterioration of collagen fibres, resulting in skin tissue breaking down and become disorganised. Plasma fibroblast can help normalise this dysfunction, through its remodelling capabilities, reversing some of the signs of sun damage.

  • Helps address body skin laxity by restoring collagen density and function, tightening loose body skin and reverse dermal atrophy.

  • Plasma fibroblasting has been proven to have a statistically significant effect on the reduction of facial wrinkles and sun damaged skin.

  • Reduces the appearance of scars through the reorganisation of collagen fibres.

  • Shown to have less healing time than other high energy ablative dermal treatments

What to expect from Plasma fibroblasing:

  • This is a non-invasive procedure that produces minimal discomfort and down-time. It can be carried out on fitzpatrick skin types 1 to 3.

  • There is no need to adjust any home skin-care routine before having this treatment carried out.

  • Plasma fibroblasing is a skin remodelling treatment carried out in a medi-spa setting on a salon treatment table

  • Firstly, a deep cleanse will be carried out to ensure the skin is free of oil, debris and ready for the treatment

  • An alcohol swab is passed over the cleansed area to kill bacteria and help minimise the risk of infection

  • The plasma fibroblasting treatment will then begin. The technician uses a plasma wand to cause thermal trauma over the area to be treated in a grid fashion. This causes an immediate retraction of the tissue leaving small carbon dots on the skin.

  • As the skin heals, the carbon dots will crust and fall away, and a further tightening and lifting of the skin will be noted. This usually happens over the week post treatment. Further collagen and elastin can/will be laid down by the skins cells for up to 3 months post-treatment.

  • Throughout the procedure it is common for the patient to feel slight discomfort, similar to that of being flicked with a rubber band.

  • Post treatment, it is common for the treated area to feel similar to a sunburn. This feeling will resolve within 24-48 hours.

  • Due to the nature of the skin, and the effects of intrinsic/extrinsic ageing over time, the benefits of this treatment typically last for between 2 to 5 years.

  • A nourishing vitamin B serum is applied at the end of the treatment to help soothe the skin. Vitamin B is a powerful nutrient that plays an important role in mitochondrial energy metabolism within the cell, helping to improve cellular function. It is also beneficial for barrier function as it boosts the production of the cell outer membrane.

  • A broad spectrum SPF is then applied to help protect the damaged skin from UV radiation and the possibility of a pigmentary response. SPF should be worn at all times, especially for the first week post treatment as the barrier function is impaired.

  • For best results the patient should be treated every 2-4 weeks for 2-4 treatments, depending on the condition of the skin
