When combined with a DERMAL THERAPY TREATMENT

Red LED therapy can help support skin renewal, collagen production, healing and overall skin health — making it the perfect finishing treatment.

What Is LED Light Therapy?

LED light therapy uses specific wavelengths of visible and near-infrared light to interact with the skin. It is also commonly referred to as red light therapy or photobiomodulation.

Unlike laser resurfacing, LED therapy is non-ablative and does not intentionally remove the surface layers of the skin. This makes it a gentle treatment option that can be incorporated into a regular skincare and skin rejuvenation routine.

Red light is commonly used in professional and home-based photobiomodulation treatments, with research investigating its potential effects on signs of skin ageing, inflammation and skin repair.

At Strong Therapy, LED therapy can be incorporated into a personalised skin treatment according to your skin's condition and your treatment goals.

Benefits of LED Skin Rejuvenation

Professional LED light therapy may be incorporated into a skin rejuvenation program to help improve the appearance of:

  • Fine lines and early signs of ageing

  • Dull or tired-looking skin

  • Uneven skin tone

  • Redness and irritated-looking skin

  • Rough or uneven skin texture

  • Acne-prone skin

  • Post-treatment skin

  • Skin that appears stressed or congested

  • Loss of overall skin radiance

Research into red LED therapy has reported improvements in areas including fine lines, wrinkles, rough-feeling skin, redness and pigmentation, although outcomes vary between individuals and treatment protocols.

LED therapy can therefore be a useful supportive treatment within a broader skin rejuvenation program, rather than a one-treatment-fixes-everything approach.

Red LED Light Therapy for Men

Men's skin has its own characteristics and treatment considerations.

Regular shaving, thicker facial skin, excess oil production, environmental exposure, exercise, sweat and daily skincare habits can all influence the condition and appearance of the skin.

Our men's LED facial treatments in Sydney are designed to provide a simple, non-invasive treatment option for men who want to take better care of their skin without complicated routines or aggressive procedures.

LED therapy can be particularly appealing if you're looking for:

Skin rejuvenation without needles
A gentle alternative or complement to more intensive treatments.

Minimal downtime.

LED therapy is generally comfortable and does not involve intentionally removing the skin's surface.

A treatment that complements other procedures
LED can be incorporated into a broader dermal therapy program alongside treatments such as microneedling, microdermabrasion and professional skincare.

A natural-looking approach to skin health
The objective is healthier-looking skin rather than dramatically changing your appearance.

Red LED Therapy & Photobiomodulation

Red light therapy is a form of photobiomodulation, a term used to describe the biological effects produced when specific wavelengths of light interact with tissue.

Red and near-infrared wavelengths are being investigated for their effects on cellular activity and skin biology. Dermatology literature describes photobiomodulation as an emerging area with applications including skin rejuvenation, although optimal wavelengths, treatment parameters and long-term outcomes continue to be studied.

This is one reason we view LED therapy as part of a complete skin health strategy, rather than presenting it as a miracle treatment.

LED Therapy for Acne-Prone Skin

LED light therapy may also be incorporated into treatments for acne-prone skin.

Different wavelengths have different effects. Blue light is commonly used in acne-focused light treatments, while red light has also been investigated for its effects on inflammation and skin recovery.

For persistent or moderate-to-severe acne, LED should not be considered a replacement for appropriate medical assessment and evidence-based acne treatment.

At Strong Therapy, LED can instead form part of a broader approach to improving the appearance and condition of acne-prone skin.

LED Therapy as a Skin Recovery Treatment

One of the advantages of LED therapy is that it can be incorporated into other professional skin treatments.

For example, LED may be used alongside:

  • Skin microneedling

  • Microdermabrasion

  • Laser resurfacing

  • Clinical skincare

  • Chemical peels

  • Skin rejuvenation treatments

This allows LED to become part of a more comprehensive treatment plan rather than an isolated procedure.

What Happens During an LED Treatment?

Your skin is first cleansed and prepared for treatment.

You will then relax comfortably while the LED device is positioned over the treatment area. The selected light wavelength and treatment parameters are determined according to the treatment being performed.

LED therapy is generally a comfortable treatment. You may experience gentle warmth or simply the sensation of the light during the session.

After treatment, you can generally return to your normal activities.

Your Strong Therapy practitioner will discuss your skin, treatment goals and any relevant contraindications before treatment.

How Many LED Treatments Will I Need?

LED therapy is generally not a one-off treatment.

The number and frequency of treatments depends on your skin, the LED technology being used and your treatment objectives.

Some people incorporate LED into a regular skin maintenance routine, while others use it as part of a course of professional skin treatments.

As with any skin treatment, individual results vary. Research into red-light therapy suggests that consistent treatment is generally more relevant than expecting an immediate transformation from a single session.

Why Choose Strong Therapy for LED Skin Treatments?

Strong Therapy combines professional dermal therapy with a broader understanding of skin, tissue and physical wellbeing.

Our approach is focused on healthy-looking skin rather than an artificial or over-treated appearance.

Whether you're looking for men's facial treatments, skin rejuvenation, improved skin texture or a simple addition to your existing skincare routine, LED therapy can be tailored to your individual needs.

Professional. Personalised. Non-invasive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does LED light therapy hurt?

No. LED therapy is generally considered a comfortable, non-invasive treatment. You may feel gentle warmth from the device during your treatment.

Is there downtime after LED therapy?

LED therapy generally involves little to no downtime. Your practitioner will provide any specific aftercare recommendations relevant to your treatment.

Is LED therapy suitable for men's skin?

Yes. LED therapy can be used as part of a professional skincare program for men, with the treatment tailored to individual skin concerns and goals.

Can LED therapy help with wrinkles?

Red-light therapy has been studied for signs of skin ageing including fine lines and wrinkles. Research has reported potentially beneficial effects, although results vary and more research is needed to establish the optimal treatment parameters.

Can LED therapy help acne?

Certain LED wavelengths, particularly blue light, have been studied for acne. Red light has also been investigated for its effects on inflammation. LED may be used as part of an acne-focused treatment program, but persistent acne may require medical assessment.

Can I combine LED with other skin treatments?

Yes. LED therapy is commonly used as a complementary treatment alongside other professional skin treatments. Your practitioner can determine whether LED is appropriate to incorporate into your treatment.

How often should I have LED therapy?

Treatment frequency depends on the device, treatment protocol and your individual skin goals. Your practitioner can recommend an appropriate treatment schedule.

Is LED therapy the same as laser treatment?

No. LED therapy and laser treatments use different technologies. LED light therapy is generally non-ablative and does not intentionally remove the surface of the skin, whereas some laser treatments deliberately affect or remove layers of tissue.

Is LED therapy safe?

Red-light therapy appears to have a generally favourable short-term safety profile, although mild irritation or temporary discomfort can occur. People with photosensitivity conditions or who take photosensitising medications should discuss light therapy with an appropriate healthcare professional before treatment.

STRONG THERAPY CO.

JEFF CAULFIELD

ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Jeff. I'm the owner and operator of the Strong Therapy clinic. I enjoy studying and practices that help me gain a deeper understanding of the human body. Whether that is physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. I constantly seek a deeper understanding in order to constantly grow as a person. I endeavour to be the best version of myself. In that pursuit, I have come to recognise the accumulative effect of behaviour patterns and how our experiences can have a lasting effect on the tissues. I use this understanding in my practice to initiate targeted interventions that kick start a reparative response within the body in order to correct dysfunction. This also brings to light possible negative triggers and helps me identify behaviour patterns that can then be modified so they are inline with desired treatment outcomes... helping others to be a better version of themselves.
